US Quincy or Qunicy

Post by Ancodia »

Which version of Quincy features on the US version of OT, the same as the Japanese or the 7"? Hope this wasn't covered on the OT page as I didn't notice it!

Ironic that the Americans got the spelling wrong and the Japanese got it right, as 'Qunicy' (sic) sounds like a Japanese name :)
I can't work it out. Indeed the American version is shorter, making the Japanese version unique. To be honest I can't spot the difference in synths between the 7" vinyl and the Japanese CD as my mixer is broken. So we know the Japanese version is the longest, but the question remains if the US version is the same as the 7" (track time is the same) or indeed a Testa Rosta reworking. Graham?
Timing the tracks on Outpost is quite tricky because they are mixed into eachother and the US version sometimes makes the cut at different points. Example is Souflex into Crossword where the US version makes it looks like Souflex is 5 seconds longer. It does actually seem slightly longer. Gary will be pleased.
Enough trainspotting.

I can tell you that Quincy on the Jap cd is well different to the 7" version.

i've been spinning the original for years, i dont like the re-working as much.

Let's just hope the US version of OT contains the original version as on the 7" and not the new mix as featured on the Japanese release. :-?
The original version is a lot darker, a partial throw-back to:

Well, to my ears, the US version sounds different to the Japanese one...

Whether it's the same version as on the Slut Smalls 7", I haven't compared yet...

Don't worry John, you're not the only one. I wish Amazon would hurry up as well. If it was released on Monday then we should have received our copies by the end of the week. As it is there is still no sign of it and I haven't had an email confirming despatch so it will probably be nearer the end of this week before we get our copies :(
I need some Brown Sauce to go with my Fajita

Yeah, I ordered it from Amazon too, and I sent them a mail on Thursday asking where it was. 'An ordering specialist is investigating and will get back to me' is the message I got earlier today. So any updates and I'll let you all know.

Hmmm... I too ordered it from Amazon about 2 weeks ago, and it arrived whilst I was on holiday...

Maybe they didn't order that many beforehand?

Anyway, fingers crossed that you all get it shortly...

I suppose it makes a difference if it was ordered through AmazonUS or AmazonUK. Presumibly direct imports through AmazonUS would be quicker?

Same here, although it does say expected delivery within 8-9 days of order. Maybe they use the same distribution people as 808state, hence the delay :P
